June Crespo’s sculptural practice sits at the threshold between the industrial and the organic, charging everyday materials with emotional intensity. Through moulding, casting, fragmentation, and assemblage, Crespo creates forms that oscillate between abstraction and figuration, density and porosity, revealing the slow accumulation of time.

In Beren ehunak bela [Their weft, the grass], Crespo brings together metallic containers and highly reflective fabric in an installation that explores material tension, resonance and exposure. The reflective textile functions as a membrane that absorbs the natural oils present in the skin. Invisible on the fabric, these traces of contact, condensation, and movement slowly surface in conditions of darkness. Its metallic sheen suggests resistance and rigidity, while also evoking fragility and vulnerability. Across the installation, reflections splinter and soften the viewer’s image, unsettling distinctions between body and object, presence and residue.

Through these materials, Crespo asks how objects can hold and transmit forms of intimacy beyond language or representation.
