Contour Biennale returns this autumn with its 11th edition, curated by Sofia Lemos. This focused relaunch edition will take place from 5 September to 1 November 2026 across heritage and cultural sites in Mechelen, bringing together international artists whose works explore transformation, imagination, and the power of images to shape how we experience ourselves and the world.

 

Participating Artists: Gabriel Abrantes, Mariana Caló & Francisco Queimadela, June Crespo, Rodrigo Hernández, Özgür Kar, Ayoung Kim, Lucia Martinez Garcia, Tuan Andrew Nguyen, Claudia Pagès Rabal, Laure Prouvost,  Kivu Ruhorahoza & Christian Nyampeta, Lisa Spilliaert, Ana Vaz and Yuyan Wang.

 

The biennale will open with a festive launch weekend on 5–6 September, featuring a series of events and guided tours across participating venues.

 

Join us on Saturday, 5 September for an opening drink at 6pm at Kunsthal Mechelen.
